In the core area, which locals still affectionately refer to as Saigon, you’ll find some of the city’s main attractions such as the Opera house, railway station, Notre Dame cathedral, Reunification Palace, the Saigon river and the Markets. To take a break from the city, you can take a tour to the Mekong Delta or to Da Lat, if you have more time. Da Lat, located in the highlands approximately 300km from the city is worth the trip as there is plenty to see and do including waterfalls, gardens, the old French Quarter and the local restaurants which served magnificent local food. Day 94
walvis bay, namibia
Arrival: 07:30 - Departure: 22:00
Walvis Bay, which means "Whale Bay" is a city in Namibia with a population of about 80,000, is located in the bay of the same name, in the west of the country. The bay has been a refuge for ships due to its port of natural depths, protected by a tongue of sand from Punta Pelicano. Being rich in plankton and maritime life, these waters brought large numbers of whales that attracted whaling ships and fishing vessels. A succession of settlers exploited the position and resources of this strategic port facility. The value of the port in relation to the sea route around the Cape of Good Hope had attracted the attention of the world powers since they discovered it. This explains the complicated political status of Walvis Bay over the years. The city is at the end of the Trans-Namib Railway to Windhoek, and on the B2 road. The attractions of Walvis Bay include the artificial Bird Island, the center of a guano collection industry, the Dune 7 sand dune, and a museum. In Walvis Bay we can also find impressive sea salt mines as well as several companies related to fishing.

Day 102
Dakar
Arrival: 07:30 - Departure: 22:00
Dakar, Senegal's capital, is located in the most western point of the African continent. Dakar is a lively, growing and changing capital with modern buildings and working-class neighbourhoods and bustling and crowded markets in the Medina area. Dakar, like many cities in the developing world, is strongly influenced by its colonial history, which can still be seen in some of its architecture. But don’t be fooled, Dakar is proudly African, colorful and authentic. The Plateau, historically the French area of the city, still has a very European character. Many parts of the urban landscape are indistinguishable from a street in a French city. This is where the city's major banks and businesses are located. European style cafés and shops are also found throughout the area. Historical buildings such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Presidential Mansion and the railroad station are also located here. Other important attractions in Dakar are the African Renaissance Monument, Ile de Goree, the Place de l'independence, Dakar Grand Mosque and Dakar Cathedral. Dakar is a bustling, charming and sometimes chaotic city of typical West African character.

Day 113
hamburg, germany
Arrival: 00:00
Hamburg, centuries-old trading city, is a busy mixture of Hanseatic commercialism and cosmopolitanism. A very handsome city, though badly damaged during WWII, much of the copper-roofed brick architecture so characteristic of northern Germany survives, while lovely parks and lakes give rise to Hamburg’s claim that it is the Venice of the north. An active cultural life lends further vitality to this sprawling port city. Hamburg’s old town is filtered with wonderful canals running from the Alster to the Elbe. The richly ornamented Rathaus dominates the city centre. Close by is the equally imposing St. Michaeliskirche. Climb the massive spire of this lovely baroque church for a splendid view. Near the Rathaus are the Börse, appropriately grand for this city of commerce, and the devastated St Nikolai church. Its remains are considered an anti-war memorial. Shopping lovers should head towards Pöseldrof, a charming quarter of ritzy homes, small cafes, boutiques and antique shops. The night birds will have a blast at the infamous St. Pauli district. Hamburg will surprise visitors with its dynamic and cool atmosphere. In this city absolutely everyone can find a good place to fit one’s taste. Its multiple parks, canals, bridges and beautiful lakes formed by the river Alster, will make you forget its apparent austerity.
