The artist was commissioned to produce statues, paint frescoes, and develop architectural plans for churches and piazzas around the city. Start your Roman tour with one of Michelangelo’s lesser-known masterpieces: the “Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri” church.  Built inside the ancient Baths of Diocletian dating back to 300 A.D. Then admire the colossal Moses, in the “San Pietro in Vincoli” church. During the tour you will also see some highlights as Campidoglio square, located on the Capitoline Hill and  “Santa Maria Sopra Minerva” church, where one of Michelangelo’s lesser-known sculptures, Christ Carrying the Cross, is housed.
